Laboratory Tests (24 Hour Service)
West Point Hospital is committed to ensure accuracy and efficiency in providing laboratory test results for our patients. We offer specific laboratory tests of the following:
-
Full Blood Count (FBC) is a series of tests used to evaluate the composition and concentration of the cellular components of blood. It consists of:
- Red blood cell (RBC) count
- White blood cell (WBC) count and platelet count
- Measurement of hemoglobin and mean red cell volume
- Classification of white blood cells (WBC differential)
- Calculation of hematocrit and red blood cell indices
-
A kidney function test is a test that can aids in evaluating kidney function. It consists of:
- Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) Test - Measures the amount of nitrogen contained in the urea. High BUN levels can indicate kidney dysfunction, but because BUN is also affected by protein intake and liver function, the test is usually done together with a blood creatinine, a more specific indicator of kidney function.
- Creatinine Test - This test measures blood levels of creatinine, a by-product of muscle energy metabolism that, similar to urea, is filtered from the blood by the kidneys and excreted into the urine, an elevated blood creatinine level is a more sensitive indicator of impaired kidney function than the BUN.
- Other blood tests - Measurement of the blood levels of other elements regulated in part by the kidneys can also be useful in evaluating kidney function. These include sodium, potassium, chloride, bicarbonate, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, protein, uric acid, and glucose.
-

- Dengue Test

Radiology Services (24 Hour Service)
We have the latest equipment of radiology and medical imaging resources for high quality compassionate patient care. We offer radiology services of the following:
- Computed Tomography (CT) Scan - It is a non invasive x-ray technique that is often one hundred times more sensitive than conventional x-rays. It allows a structure/ part of the body to be visualized one to eight slices at a time, creating 2 to 3 dimensional images made in seconds, which appear on a TV monitor outside the room. Scanning can be done on any part of the body. Abnormal findings can reveal tumors, nodules, cysts, enlarged lymph nodes, and pleural effusions.
** Latest - West Point Hospital purchased the latest Philips Brilliance 16 slice configuration CT Scanner
-
Extremity X-ray - A radiograph of your hand, wrist, arm, foot, ankle, knee, hip, or leg. It is done to see whether a bone has been fractured or a joint dislocated. It is also used to check for an injury or damage from conditions such as an infection, arthritis, bone growths (tumors), or other bone diseases, such as osteoporosis.
-
Chest X-ray - A procedure used to evaluate organs and structures within the chest for symptoms of disease. Chest x rays include views of the lungs, heart, small portions of the gastrointestinal tract, thyroid gland, and the bones of the chest area.
-
Portable X-ray - An x ray procedure taken by equipment that can be brought to the patient. The resulting radiographs may not be as high in quality as stationary x ray radiographs, but allow a Radiographer to come to the bedridden patient.
